CMAS 4-STAR DIVER
Definition
A three star diver who has attained a higher than average level of knowledge and ability supported by broad experience. He will be competent to use divers and diving to achieve major tasks or project objectives.
Entry requirements
- Must have held a 3 Star Diver Certificate for at least 2 years.
- Must have been a member of his Federation for at least 5 years.
- Must have carried out at least 100 dives, under varying conditions, since obtaining 3 Star Diver Certificates.
Course content
It is not considered that this level will be reached following a course of fixed content, but rather as the result of experience acquired over an extended period and incorporating a broad range of conditions and requirements.
Assessment
The diver must be able to prove his capabilities in organising diving expeditions and other diving activities with a particular stress on safety and emergency procedures, and by proving his competence in a given specialised area or in a scientific discipline.
The assessment will be made at a national level by a panel composed of 3 Star Instructors and confirmed by the responsible National Technical Committee.
PADI MASTER SCUBA DIVER
PADI awards their Master Scuba Diver Recognition to a diver who completes:
1/- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course or equivalent.
2/- PADI Rescue Diver course.
3/- PADI EFR Emergency First Response course.
4/- Any Five different PADI specialty diving courses (not counting the PADI Rescue Diver or EFR course).
5/- Logs 50 dives.

- PADI Master Scuba Diver: Minimum of 50 logged dives

CMAS 4-Star Diver and PADI Master Scuba Diver training courses include do not include
Dive equipment, beers and land transfers apart from Kamala, Kalim, Patong North & South, Karon, Kata, Chalong and Rawai & Naiharn beaches and digital teaching material, certification fees and the additional dives to be certified with the minimum mandatory dives for CMAS and PADI.
The European International dive education system CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques) recognises only three main levels of dive education indicated by a one star, two star, or three star system. One star indicates an ability to dive, two stars indicate an additional skill to rescue struggled divers, and three star indicates the additional skill in leading a group of divers.
The certification levels of PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Advanced Diver, PADI Rescue Diver & EFR, PADI Master Scuba Diver and PADI Divemaster is loosely equivalent the CMAS One-Star Diver, CMAS Two-Star Diver, CMAS Three-Star Diver and CMAS Four-Star diver, although the European courses tend to be longer and more intensive than their U.S. counterparts.

To book an excursion, a day of diving or a diving course with Seafarer Divers Phuket, we need to have this information:
- By all participants: Name and first name, photocopy of passport, nationality, full address in Phuket (Hotel with room number, private house, condo, etc.), arrival and departure dates to and from Thailand.
- Per diver: Photocopies of the diver's certification and logbook with the last dives (certified diver only), height and weight in metric system, the size of the BCD (Stab-jacket) and the wetsuit (XXXL, XXL, XL, L, M, S, XS), the size of the feet for the fins.
